Thanks all for your suggestions. I do have new 4300 bulbs and cleaned and polished lenses but still the light output is inferior to our former 2005 wagon. From what I understand, the pre 2006 cars had a combination of xenon and halogen bulbs, and with the addition of the flash to pass relay, had outstanding lights.
There had been past posts from Herb Hirsch who stated that he added the halogen bulb in the empty socket on the post 2005 models. He offered to share the wiring changes needed by sending him an email. Unfortunately he does not seem to be reachable by email any longer. If anyone else might have this information, it would be helpful to me and others with this lighting shortfall.
