I have the 3.0 V6, 2002 9-5. I've let to coolant go to way long and noticed it got kind of dark grey. It's Zerex G-05 Coolant. I was thinking maybe the oil-to-water cooler blew but the Coolant doesn't look oily. Thought maybe the Coolant expired (7 years old, shame on me) and the grey is from the engine decaying away? Main reason for writing its does this sound like oil in the Coolant? It doesn't look sludgy to me.
And living in a suburb of Portland, Oregon, People are nuts here. So we were driving down the Highway in our SAAB and apparently the vehicle in front of us got our Windshield splattered, like Window Washers that shot over their Vehicle. Never thought anymore about it. Then I was washing the old SAAB and noticed the Hood and the Roof between the Sunroof and the Windshield were pitted. Like down to the bare metal. Kind of sucks alright. So I called a Friend that is a Police Officer for the County and he said there have been a few reports of similar damage. He said they caught one Person that was driving a Tesla and was spraying Acid on ICE powered Vehicles. He said they couldn't prosecute them as almost anything goes here. Anyway, the SAAB would need to be repainted for the Hood and roof which I bet my Insurance would bark at and raise our rates. Never had a claim in 50 years except Comprehensive for Windshields.
