The typical reason for no communication with the ABS module is a broken bonding wire in the ABS controller. The controller is quite easy to replace while leaving the ABS valve body in the car with all the brake lines attached.
Just remove the battery, disconnect the the 2 connectors at the ABS controller, undo the six screws holding the controller and carefully pull it forward. Reverse for putting it back together. Your plain ABS unit should be easy to get, the TCS version is a bit harder.
