My wife and I have owned a 1999 9-5 since it was new. I’m certain we have put at least as much into keeping it going as we paid for it when we bought it regrettably it was a base model. But we have kept it up and it is generally in good condition with the exception of the radio. It stopped receiving signals about 10 years ago. I didn’t worry about it because my daughter was driving the car, but I’m certain that a mechanic did something that broke the antenna cable or somehow other interfered with it because it worked fine for 15 years. So now I want to fix the radio. I’m on my third radio and neither of them improve the reception so I have to believe that there’s an antenna problem. I am prepared to just put in an antenna that you stick to your windshield just so that I can keep the original radio. But in order to do that I gotta take out that cage. If I take out the cage, I’m certain to bend it beyond repair. So I need a pristine radio cage. Alternatively I need good directions on how to get the existing radio cage out without bending it beyond repair. Any ideas?
