We’ve all got these old spare tires in our cars with the potential for failure when needed. I had a spare in a 9000 that looked like your spare, but luckily I discovered it before I needed it. I also had a valve stem crack that i discovered when I tried to put air into the spare. I do put a snow tire in for the spare on longer trips, but a spare can be needed even locally. I’ll be interested to hear what others have to say. I have a similar set of aging Goodyear Eagle Sport tires on one car that I will keep a close eye on although the heat in your area probably helped contribute to the failure.
