Even a half inch wider aftermarket wheel, with the 235 x 45 x 17, fits well in the wagons. The issue being securing the 5th wheel - you're going to need an adapter, as a longer stud makes R + R of the 5th wheel and tire a struggle with luggage still in the back. Stock 17s with a 225 x 45 x17 secures more easily, and a stock 16 with a 205 x 55 x 16 is nice too.
Sedans are a bit more of a challenge. I'll often run a set of four 205 x 55 x 16 Saab wheels with a matching 5th one as a spare. It elevates the panel over the spare a little bit, not bad.
C'mon guys. These elderly do-nuts are there because the bean counters made it so. They're so limited in their capability and they almost always end up "timing out" and going to the landfill. I need a spare that will go more than 60 mph and more than 100 miles and these do-nuts can't do either.
