How to remove the Center Upper Dash Vent - Solar sensor assembly

The cover place for the Solar sensor (5550918) failed (again for the 3rd time). It broke in three pieces very similar to the way the previous breaks occurred. In addition, it seems that the mounting tabs on the center upper dash vent cover have also broken, so even if I could find the sensor cover plate, I could not mount it. The solar sensor cover plate is NLA anywhere that I could find on the new or used mkt (Help anyone?) My google foo may be failing me. The dash vent cover (5550421) is available at Goldwing. My question is, how is the dash vent cover removed? It looks like it snaps/clips in but no clue where the tabs are to remove it. Moreover, if I do get a replacement, how easy is it to install? There is not a lot of space between the dash and windshield to get any sort of tool in, or even ones hands.
Suggestions/guidance appreciated.....
