Strangely the user manual in my case wasn’t clear. The bulb spec listed was for a clear bulb, single filament (almost like it was do the old cornering/backup light that was in the front corners when there were two bulbs there.

The bulb I removed was a two filament amber bulb, marked 1157A so I used that.

Note also that color aside, the insides of the sockets are different for single and dual filament so only the correct base will fit. IIRC the pins on the sides of the bulb base are at the same position on each side of the bulb in a single filament and in a dual they are ‘staggered’ - one higher on the base than the other.
