Fuel Gauge died on me..

Hi,
Bought dealer certifiled 1999 Saab SE Sedan (Silver Green/Beige) with 43K miles for 17800 from BMW dealership with 6 months warranty. The car is still under Manufacturer warranty till Dec. In less than two week, Fuel gauge died on me and some jerk put a deep scartch on rear bumper in the driver side. Since it is under warranty Fuel Gauge will fixed with no cost.
This is my first SAAB and I liked the drive, comfort and everything so far.
My questions are
1. Is the price I paid is reasonable?
2. Do you recommend buying extended warranty?
3. How much do you think I should pay for repainting rear bumper?
Thanks in advance,
-ro
