I am surprised that Discount Tire could not get you these. My local Discount store can order any tire, and will match an Internet price if you bring in the ad. They have been great. My local GY store sells at full MSRP.
I haven't bought a set of GW2s later than a couple of years ago. I paid $545 not including mount and balance, which comes out to $136 each. Keep in mind that many smaller Goodyear stores are independently owned and can set their own prices (usually near MSRP). The Service Centers can offer a greater discount. Maybe you could call around....
I really like the tires, though I have only run them on AWD cars - a 1988 Mazda 323 GTX and my wife's current A4 1.8T Sedan quattro. They work _very_ well in all conditions and are H rated - you can refer to some of my past posts describing my views on this tire. As soon as my current crappy Hakka Qs peel off the rest of their too-soft tread, I will put a set of GW2s on my '01 Aero Wagon.
Your car should not have any wheel fitment problems - the Aeros may have brake caliper interference. In any case, it is prudent to have the shop fit one bare wheel on the front of the car to check for clearance before they mount the tires. Then do another check on the front to check for tire rub.
Good luck. Don't give up too easily - I think you will like the Goodyears. Just make sure you get the Eagle UltraGrips, not the regular ones.
