Because of the way the the gearing is set up to match the torque curve it is best not to shift up if the RPMs are below 3500. If you shift right at 3500 that will put the RPMs down just at the start of the high torque part of the curve, about 1900. I recommend that you try a shift point at about 4000 RPM
