I believe that the SAAB hitch reinforces the bumper inpact beam (that is why the bumper has to be removed). Thus when an impact occurs, the intended crush zone still works as Saab intended. I watched the install on mine and the Master Tech did not act like this was his favorite job. It is very well done compared to the Draw Tite. I pull a 2,000 lb (dry) travel trailer and wanted the best available. The Saab hitch is marked with the tongue weight of 165 lbs. The instructions with the Draw Tite give a tongue weight of 300 lbs but refer one to the manual. This could cause problems for those that don't read the fine print. Or a second buyer of the car who "assumes". The receiver for the Draw Tite is straight while the SAAB's is curved up. My ball is at the proper height off the ground for my trailer. What does one do with the Draw Tite if it is too low? All food for thought.
