Anders makes a good point here about the newer auto transmissions, they are more complex, therefore more costly to service/replace, and are more compact compared to the old three speed automatics used yrs ago in rwd, which likely means less fluid in the box.
Anders, care to render an opinion on the flush vs drain at home ? The owners manual says that approx half of the trans fluid can be drained through the drain plug in the casing so I'm assuming the rest stays in the torque converter and cooler . I know a dealer who says that he has a special machine that replaces all the fluid. Would not this be what a complete flush entails, or is it a ruse ?
