I read recently that 1 in 100 flushes trashes the transmission. My mechanic confirmed that but said it only applies to older cars that have not been cared for. In that situation you should not flush.
If an independant flushes it and the tranny is damaged you have a potential lawsuit. You know Saab wan't pay. If Saab does the flush and damages the tranny it is under warranty and you get a loaner car. I think the tranny change is scheduled for 40,000 miles when the service isn't free. I probably wouldn't hurt to wait but maybe another Saab dealer would be cheaper or maybe don't flush and just change what you can. I think flushing costs more and is less work. They flushed my jeep three months ago (withouit warning me of the dangers) and now they just called to say my tranny was leaking and they wanted to do the regular change. After I pointed out that they had already done the flush they found that it was just a bolt that needed torque. Always beware.
