The Saab brand is chock full of owners who record 100K + on their Saabs.. so is Merc, BMW, ect.... in my mind.. Saab has ALWAYS been in the top of the safety test (does that matter to you?) and the 2002 Aero is a BLAST to drive... I don't care about others “my Saab is a piece of junk stories"... just how do they drive the car? Do they maintain them?... allow it to cool down or just rev it up into a parking space and shut her down? Stop completely BEFORE shifting into Drive/Reverse? Brake in a smooth way or jerk to a stop all the time? Do they ride the Brake.. or practice correct driving principals..? Do they hit curbs when parking?

My Father-in law dislikes his Volvo convert. It's only 1 yr old but guess what.... he likes to bump into things all the time.. jerky driving/braking and doesn't really pay attention to maint... car wobbles and shakes and he thinks it is turning junky.. WELL OF COURSE IT IS...the beautiful 5 spoke rims are all curbed up!

Bottom line.. don't believe the crap people tell you about their cars.. I take most of it with a grain of salt.. you really want to conduct basic research.. test drive them all.. BUT before you do.. go in on a Sat AM and hang around the service department... and just LISTEN.. I did.. was surprised to hear about the Audi new tranny issues, twin turbo synch problems, and other misc BMW complaints.. Saabs no no saint either.. but much less severe than the others..then average these out over the $ you will pay for the car...

European cars a finely tuned machines.. do you see ANY other American brand pumping out 250 HP out of a 4 cylinder made to last 100K PLUS++?

if you like to bump into things.. drive erratic.. and ignore proper maintenance.. go buy a Ford Taurus.. pay cheap dollars.. but be ready to replace it in 2 years and mix in with all the other Jones' out there who think the ride is "fine"...
