I've had a chance to drive a manual recently and I've managed to embarass myself quite a bit ;). I haven't touched the stick for over 5 years, but getting ahold of the clutch was not the biggest problem. When driving an automatic, I left foot brake, and this habit was VERY hard to defeat. Too often while trying to break I instinctively applied the leftmost pedal (which happened to be a clutch), wondering why doesn't the damn thing stop. Fortunately, aside from a couple of scary moments, the trip has ended well.
