Just got back from the dealership to drive a 2001 9-5 2.3LPT 5-speed to compare to my 2000. It confirmed my suspicions that there is nothing wrong with my car, just all this talk of turbo replacement making me think the car is running slower. Think I'm just used to the power by now and the torque rush in 2nd gear, etc.

Out of curiousity, I noticed in first gear that the turbo guage doesn't make it past the green zone. Is that typical of all the cars? Someone was trying to tell me that they increase the boost on the turbo after a few thousand miles, to keep the engine from too much strain when it's new. Not sure about this, as I certainly haven't seen it in any saab literature.

For all the people contemplating 170 vs. 185 hp LPT, the difference was subtle. I certainly wasn't blown away in the 185, and getting back into my 170 didn't feel like a dog. Seat of the pants, of course.
