I went to pull my 02 wagon out of the driveway today so I could get the garbage can to the curb, no problem. Pulled back in and went to shut off the car and noticed (at idle)the turbo gauge was in the yellow, RPMs @ 2500 and temp guage reading WAY above normal. Also noticed some weird lines underneath the numbers on the odometer. OMG !! Shut her down, no change in turbo, RPM or temp gauge; they never went to "off" position. Started back up, got "Check OK" but everything out of whack still. Shut down again and went into the backyard to ponder, hoping that everything would "magically" repair itself if I left it alone. 10 minutes pass, start up again, same thing. Called dealer and decided to drive into service dept about 20 miles away. During the trip had a LOT less turbo power, and acceleration took turbo into red, RPMS up to 4000 and temp guage went to just below red. Kept fingers crossed, told her we were almost there, and made it without incident. Got hooked up to computer, NO fault codes!! Battery good. Of course, SAAB Tech line was closed for the day, so I came home with a new 9-3SS loaner. Thoughts anyone?? Thinking I'll send a prize to whoever figures this one out correctly...LOL
