You may not have a problem with your transmission but rather excessive carbon build up in the combustion chambers and exhaust valves. A recent dealer service letter addresses the complaint. The repair involves decarbonization of the engine with GM top engine cleaner. See below

Some cars can, depending on fuel quality and driving conditions, develop the following fault symptoms:
1. Transmission shudder during a 3-4 upshift.
2. Diminished power over time.
3. Sudden power losses.
If these symptoms occur, it is most likely due to heavy development of carbon inside the combustion chamber. Trionic misinterprets the readings from the Direct Ignition cassette as engine knocking. The carbon can also stick to the shafts of the exhaust valves.
ACTION
1. Check that the correct spark plugs, BCPR6ES, are installed, and in good condition.
2. Heat up the engine thoroughly with at least 6 miles of hard driving. (It is necessary to reach a very high temperature of the valves).
3. Disconnect the hose for the crankcase ventilation (12), between the throttle housing and the camshaft cover, at the one way valve. (See picture below)
4. Increase the engine speed to 2500 - 3000 rpm.
5. Take a can of GM "Combustion Chamber Cleaner" (GM Part number 10-50-002) , and empty all its contents in one, go into the throttle body via the disconnected hose. (The can must be kept in an upright position in order to empty it completely).
Note: We recommend the use of an exhaust evacuating device (or perform the cleaning outdoors) due to the large amount of smoke produced during this procedure.
Thank you for your attention.
Sincerely,
