Sounds like the "limp home mode" got triggered by >> Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Fri, 4 Apr 2003 23:50:03 In Reply to: Stranded--Help!, JonnyT, Fri, 4 Apr 2003 23:29:48 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
some fault in the system. It might be a problem to cure the car without a Saab shop nearby. Have him look for Saab independant shops too in the area.
Even though the Chevy dealer are equipped with the Tech 2 scanner, they wont have the correct software needed for Saabs.
The culprit for making the C/E light come on needs to be found and repaired, and the faultcode have to be reset. After that the throttle linkage on the throttle body can be reset from it's limp home mode.
The Chevy dealer might be able to use the generic OBD2 section of their scanner to read and reset the fault codes. But they also need to fix the problem so it wont happen again and trigger the throttle linkage ones more.
I'll be at work tommorrow Saturday if he needs information faxed or E-mailed to where he is.
