Hey, its your car, right? You make the payments. You take care of it. If you are comfy with 3000 mile oil changes, I say ROCK ON!
If you want to go further the best thing to do is to have your oil analysed to determine how well its holding up (you prolly know this). I had the oil analysed in my 9-5 and can say unequivically that 10,000 miles is wayyyy to long for Mobil One 10/30. But the analysis did tell me that 5000 is fine so I'm sticking with that.
Remember that your car/engine/driving style/weather conditions are unique so when someone says, "10,000 miles is no problem with synthetics", that they are speaking for their unique combo (hopefully) and not yours. Do what you think is best for your car and peace of mind.
