It sounds like you really like your 9-5 with the exception of the idle problem and tires. These are much discussed here. A simple solution to the idle problem has been to increase the idle (Tech II required) 50 or 100 rpm. Others have found that the shop had to upgrade the software for the car. Your dealer should be able to resolve this. Do a search and see what others have said.
Tires are a problem if not rotated and direction changed every 5-6 thousand miles. The OEM MIchelins are very hard and when they wear get very noisy. Also lots of discussion on tires here as well. I hope you get these sorted out and really enjoy the car.
