I have two v-6s, one sedan and one wagon. The sedan has 38K and the engine has been absolutely trouble free. Some of the other parts should have been this good. When it came time to get my watgon, it was between the v-6 and the hpt4. Took the v-6 again. I have been on this bb for two years and have yet to see anyone say they had a v-6 engine problem. The worst anyone can say about it is that it has a belt rather than a chain and that the belt has to be replaced twice as often as the chain. The performance is worth it. As for the milage, my v-6 gets better highway mpg than my 9-3 2.0lpt automatic which is much lighter. So I question the reports of those who say the 2.3lpt in a heavier car gets better mpg.
