Your experience reminded me of my sad sales and service experience with a Saturn Saab Isuzu dealer. I would suggest to write to David McCall, Dir., Saturn Saab Isuzu Canada, and Marc Comeau, V.P., Sales Service Marketing, General Motors of Canada, 1908 Colonel Sam Drive, Oshawa, Ontario L1H 8P7. Unfortunately you'll probably get smooth window dressing; no satisfaction. The response is handled by rather green Exec. Assistants. Expect to hear: "Our retailer has full authority in all matters of an internal nature related to sales, service and operating procedures. Saab was not party of the agreement between you and your retailer and therefore, cannot be held responsible... Unfortunately despite our efforts and good intentions, not every customer leaves satisfied. When a customer goes home disappointed so do we." Etc., etc., etc.
In a nutshell, GM Canada appears reluctant to properly back the Saab cars made and distributed by GM - including proper training and motivation of their own dealers, who unfortunately are Saturn dealers first and foremost. The GM car is fine - the GM dealer network is marginal. I would encourage you to speak up, and I hope you'll get the kind of treatment Saab owners deserve - in Canada as well. Good luck, Peter
