I have a 9-3, a 9-5 sedan and 9-5 wagon. The 9-3 has more utility than the 9-5 sedan but is not nearly as refined. The 9-3 does corner better, however, with less body roll. But it sounds like you really need the wagon. You may be surprised to learn that it is only marginally more expensive than the sedan. I leased my wagon for less than my sedan partly because the residual on the wagon is higher. If cost is a real factor, consider leasing and then buying. I actually think this is cheaper in the long run because leases usually have a much better interest rate. Also, given Saab's depreciation, you definitly should lease if there is any chance you will be wanting out of the vehicle in 3 or four years. Let Saab take the hit for its poor resale.
