The issue with waiting is that the paint needs time to cure. If the car was sitting around for a while it is probably fine if it was new then you should obey your manual. I have two black saabs. A 1989 SPG and a 2000 Gary Fisher Wagon. I use Liquid Glass on both. The 89 SPG has the original finish and it looks mah-vel-ous. It has had only liquid glass applied 3 to four times per year. I tried dozens of waxes on my 1984 900 turbo and was displeased wit eveything except liquid glass, no swirls, good deep shine without that blotchy look you get with so many waxes on black. I apply it with an orbital buffer and then bake the finish in the sun to cure it. Then move it back into the garage to admire that super smooth look and feel.
