Richard, Which dealer have you been using???
I too had a 1999 95 lpt (purchased April 98) Because it was one of the very first North American bound 95's I had a large amount of "teething" problems. My dealer, Budd's of Oakville was extremely helpful during this time, I had the ECU changed twice, the ECM changed, the SID unit, the ACC, a new Turbo, Exhaust, Rear springs, and a few other annoying parts, but Budds were there every time to help with a loaner and offer their apologies during the duration of the repair. Now any sane person would have walked away from this situation saying, "Sod Saab, I'm buying a ...) but when the repairs were all said and done I really enjoyed driving my 95, so when it came to getting a new car in April of this year I looked at the BMW 530i, The Audi S4 and A6 2.7t, the Volvo S60t5, and the 95 Aero.
Well to cut a very long (winded) story short I am driving a 2001 95 Aero!!!
The moral to the story is very simple, first year productions can have a few bugs to be worked out (even Rolls-Royce make Shite) and second, find the best dealer/Mechanic you can, It can make all the difference.
Cheers..............Manumad (opinionated as ever)
