Aero vs. SE

I am trying to decide between an Aero and an SE. I live in the Mid-atlantic region and do a reasonable amount of highway travel (100-150 miles/week). I am concerned about the Aero's handling in bad weather. How is the Aero (with the stock tires and wheels)in the rain, slush and snow? Will I need a set of snow tires with new wheels? How much do these cost? Can I simply switch the original tires for a more four-season tire? Are the original rims as fragile as they seem? I have read the posts on the BB but any additional help and advice will be appreciated. Thanks,
BDH
