If you are looking for the perfect setup for the 9-5, I highly
recommend the (XM Commander). From the advice of the SAAB
dealer, I took the car to the Circuit City in Lancaster, PA.
The installer is certified to install satellite radios on SAAB's,
as well as other European models. The XM Commander fits absolutely perfect in the little cutout below the heated seat switches. It fits perfectly flush, in fact they angled it just slightly towards the
driver for easier viewing. The new micro antenna is placed on my trunk by
the back window; very low profile, you cannot even see the wire because
it's at the back edge. It is also easily detachable since it is magnetic. The receiver is located in the side panel of the trunk which is hidden from view. There was no drilling required, these guys knew their stuff. This is not a removable unit, it is hard wired. Sound is incredible,
looks incredible...if your anal about appearance and sound, you will
not regret going with this unit. I had looked at Sirius and XM,
Circuit City recommended the XM Commander over any of the other
units (Audiovox, Kenwood etc..)just for the 9-5, because of the
cockpit and for clean installation. Note of advice, make sure
the installer knows exactly what he is doing, and what his plan
is for installation before the job is done. Model number for the
XM Commander is....XM-RVR-FM-001 Hope this helps anyone who is
considering a satellite hook-up.
