What makes the Saab so special...? Your thoughts....

First let me start by saying I am a new 2001 9-5 owner in NJ - and I LOVE IT!!!! Living in an area where luxury cars are very common (NJ/NYC) I wasn't even thinking of the Saab for my new purchase, but was definitely looking to get a luxury vehicle. I was leaning toward BMW, but after hearing a lot of negative things (eg. salespeople who are jerks, their "no-haggle" attitude, their ATTITUDE, etc.) I steered away from that. Test drove a Volvo (S40 and S80)-not impressed. Test drove a Lexus - again, not impressed (felt too much like an American car).
To get to the point - I do not see a lot of Saabs on the road in my area, or anywhere for that matter. I see lots of BMWs, MBs, Lexus, Volvo (all over the place), and Infinity.
The Saab feels really "solid" to me, and I feel very safe in it. I have lots of control and that's a good feeling too. The deal wasn't bad
either - so why aren't more people sharing in my excitement and buying the Saab? Is Saab just poorly marketed in the States? Or is it just my area?
That mere fact is what I like most - no one else has one and I feel like my car is unique. I notice people tend to look more - because at first, they are not sure what it is.
Maybe I'm nuts, but it's just my observation. Whatever the case - I am so glad I bought this car (or leased I should say). Thanks for listening!
