Big vise grips! Seriously, there are only a few options if the flats are gone off the drain plug.
First step is a _big_ pair of self-locking pliers. Tighten them down really tight, wiggle them a bit, then tighten them some more, and then see if the plug will come loose. A few careful taps with a ball pein hammer might help. This will probably do the trick.
If that won't work, I suggest that you stop at that point and get a good shop to get the plug out. Heating the oil pan while cooling the plug with dry ice will probably unstick it.
Forget an "easy-out" - those are usually a next-to-the last resort, and a real pain in the butt to use, especially if you are drilling into your engine.
The ultimate solution is a machine shop tool that literally burns out the bolt without harming the threads in the hole, though I am sure that will not work when there is oil in the pan.... I sure wouldn't want to try it, even with a big fire extinguisher next to me! You would have to have the pan removed for this trick.
It was too late to get the Saab dealer to fix it under warranty when you destroyed the flats. Good luck. And be sure to get a new plug and washer, and go easy on the torque ;) And complain to the dealer the next time you see him - there is no excuse for over-torquing the drain plug.
