I installed XM in my '99 wagon. I don't have the Onstar sharfin so that wasn't a concern for me. I positioned mine above the high rear brake light on the roof. I pulled back the weatherstripping and low and behold on mine there was a notch in the metaloff to the left a few inches. I simply took advantage of that rather than creating my own. Running the wires from the rear to the front was a breeze, use a credit card to simply push the wires behind the trim. Careful not to use something sharp, the antenna wire is not real tough. Good luck, are you getting XM or Sirius?
