GM authorized the foam baffle fix and supplied the parts to my dealer. There was absolutely no hassle or problem and the service was performed in a professional and expeditious manner. As witnessed from the many postings on this board, this is not an uncommon problem and I am surprised that some dealers are ignorant to the problem or the corrective action as you have noted.. I cannot attest to the reduction in fuel capacity, but suggest that it is minimal, perhaps a litre or so. In view of the excellent fuel economy of my 2.3lpt and the tank capacity, any concern over capacity reduction from the baffle fix is a non-starter in my opinion.
