I got sick of having my grill slide back and forth every time I washed or waxed the car, so here is how I stopped it. Go ahead - call me anal....

Remove the grill - unscrew the two black plastic fasteners on top and pop out the threaded housings. Lift the grill straight up.

Clean the underside of the grill (mounting areas only) and the car structure where the locating tabs stick up. Get the car structure really clean - a spray cleaner followed by alcohol or some other solvent will do the job. Cleaning the grill itself isn't so important.

Apply a thin layer of Vaseline petroleum jelly to the underside of the grill, around the slots, being careful to get it up into the sides of the slots and on top a little.

Apply a _small_ dab of clear or black silicone sealer to each side of the two tabs on the car. Anything bigger than the size of a pea is overkill.

Carefully install the grill and center it between the headlights. Smooth out any sealant that has squished up through the slots, and remove any excess.

The Vaseline keeps the sealant from sticking to the grill, so it can easily be removed, but the gaps are filled and the grill will no longer slide back and forth. When the sealant has dried, remove any Vaseline from on top of the grill to keep dirt from accumulating there.
