I just washed my Aero for the first time today and did notice that the grill is very loose. It can easily be nudged from side by hand without even trying. Looks like a poor design to me.
Still, what you went through seems like a lot of work for a fix! I would think the dealers should have a way to secure it and I plan to ask about it when I have my 30 day inspection this Friday.
I feel that for a car this pricey everything on the exterior should be solidly secure and not jiggly. Haven't seen a whole lot of BMWs or Benzes with losse grills. It makes me fear it could easily fall off even without a collision. That little silver design with the logo is one of my favorite features of tyhe car! I always thought it was made of a tough metal, I was surprised at how plasticy it felt.
