I was just checking the wear situation my tires. Thanks in part to an oversight on my part (I'm used to rotating my tires routinely when I put on the winter shoes, but I moved south and haven't had to use the snows), plus some bad luck I had hitting a pothole and bubbling a tire a year ago, my tire wear situation is about as follows:
Front left: 10-15% treadwear life remaining
Front right: 10-15% treadwear life remaining
Rear left: 40-50% treadwear life remaining
Rear right: 60-70% treadwear life remaining
I'm curious to hear from the tire experts on the board. If I don't want to significantly compromise performance, am I stuck replacing all four tires? Or is there another alternative? If there is another alternative, how should I rotate? The best rubber goes to the rear, but I don't really want unevenly worn tires on the front, do I?
Most importantly, I don't want to compromise safety, and don't really want to impact performance.
My tires are the OEM Michelin Primacys.
Thanks for your thoughts and opinions!
