Question about 9-5s

I'm thinking of trading or selling my '01 Viggen before the warranty expires and am going to be considering a CPO 9-5 or 9-3SS. My reasons for trading include the rough ride of the Viggen and the excessive rattles it produces, the desire for an auto tranny, the low front-end spoiler and just a lifestyle that doesn't really justify hanging on to an all-out sports car. I'm also a bit queasy about keeping a car like the Viggen out of warranty and haven't found any extended warranties that I even trust. The interior trim on the 9-3SS Linear just doesn't do it for me so I'll only consider a 9-3SS Arc and I don't think any of those will be available in a time frame or price that meets my needs. I'm trading a car that I bought new less than 3 years ago (albeit at a steal and 0% financing) and took a big hit on depreciation and have decided that CPO is really the best deal out there with the longer warranty and lower price to purchase.
So, that said, I'm wondering what the 9-5 folks think about the pros and cons between the 2003 Arc that's the V6 3.0t engine and the 2004 Arc that has the 220HP 2.3T engine. I've had a 2004 Arc as a loaner on two occasions and found it to be plenty fast for my needs, but I've also read here people griping about a decontenting in the 2004. How is the V6? How much worse is real-life fuel economy and reliability? Does the V6 offer a "sport" mode that offers a similiar seat of the pants thrill that the 2.3T does? Also should I consider a 2003 9-5 Linear 2.3t over the V6?
I may still consider an Aero but haven't driven one and would likely have to go higher mileage and price to get one and probably won't want to do that.
Thanks for your opinions and advice here,
John
