I find my v6's torque for around-town and in-traffic driving to be much more useable than the Aero (based on only a couple Aero test drives). However, my v6 runs out of breath fairly quickly when the revs go up compared to the Aero(hence its lower hp rating). The Aero is quicker in traffic when you work at it (e.g. having fun rowing gears), otherwise it has a bit of a rubber band throttle response (turbo lag). Aero's definately stronger when keeping your right foot down as the boost sets in.
I think these two differences can be traced to the larger displacement higher compression ratio v6 coupled with it's small single-bank turbo (quicker spooling, but lower pressure), versus the smaller displacement but larger higher pressure turbo (takes a bit more time to giddy-up but then blasts). I'd be much more speeding ticket-prone with an Aero and it's intoxicating rush, more lane-change ticket prone with the v6. I would be interested to see 25-45mph, 30-50mph, and 55-70mph acceleration comparisons between the two (in an automatic, v6 doesn't come manual).
