I also had a stuck trunk latch on a 2000 9-5 wagon. I managed to fiddle with it in much the same way you desribed, and fixed it. Yay! However, now the indicator on the dashboard says that the trunk is open all the time. Also, the trunk light is on all the time, and the trunk tries to latch any time I get going from a stop. The key auto release works, and I can unlock it from the door button. I can also lock it. The computer just can't seem to figure it out.
How does the trunk sensor that looks to see if the trunk is closed work? I'd like to either fix it, or defeat it completely.
