I had a similar plan.. yes that would be great idea...

I tried the Onstar phone for the first year or so.. It worked fine..but those minutes plus the $34/mos or so for the service didn't make sense...

I always wondered/wished that they would have designed the system so you could just plug your regular cell phone into the Onstar system and get the best of both worlds... who wants a second cell # ?
