I had same message after installing a new SID - I flunked repairing my old one. I eventually had an independent mechanic program it for me when I had some work done. Other than the annoying message at start-up, the SID worked properly for all the limited functions I use.
I imagine the fuel rate of burn for DTE was off, but I never use it. There was a short list of itmes I had the mechanic set via the TechII when programming it (i.e. no auxillary heater) which I gleaned out of my WIS.
One thing I didn't get corrected (wasn't on my list to him) was resetting the "Time For Service" counter to the proper mileage flag. The message now appears approx 2500 miles before/after you would expect it, (not at 120,000 miles but I got it at 122,500 miles). Put this one on your list.
