Hi,
I just bought a 2001 9-5 with 36k miles from Santa Ana Saab. When I drove the car the day of purchase I noticed that it seemed soft compared to a (87 900) or my (1994 900) but figured it was not unusual for a larger sedan. This weekend I drove up to Monterey, about 600 miles round trip on Hwy 101 here in California and had a few scares while going into right-hand turns above 70mph. Are 9-5s supposed to drive like a musshy 1992 Ford Taurus? I tried turning off the traction control but it drives the same. It seems really bouncy on freeway dips and sometimes digs in on the right into a right-side turn. It feels really weird and scary like the car is going to go out of control. My old 1987 or 1994 900 would feel like it was on rails in the same situation. Shocks? Allignement? I am going to take it to the mechanic on Monday morning. They said I need to replace the shocks...propably. Does that sound about right? Never been in a Saab that drove like this before. I hope 9-5s are not supposed to be like this. Besides that I love the car. Thanks in advance for any advice or info.
