Talk to the seller -- chances are, they will suggest something themselves. They can lower the value of goods on the customs slip, send through a different postal service (e.g. USPS does not charge brokerage, as opposed to FedEx and UPS) and so on.

The most common advice I've seen on car forums is to ask the other side to send a package as a person (not as a company), label it as a gift and specify a marginal value. I just had a set of Intrax springs for my 900 shipped like this a month ago -- zero duties (even though it was sent by FedEx).
