It turned out to be a badly worn CV joint. The entire time I heard the ominous and much-dreaded "CV joint clicking" so I knew that at the very least I was in for a CV joint replacement. I had the exact same vibration problem at the same time--I asked around and the consensus was that my inner driver was going bad too. I finally had the time to take it into my mechanic who decided to replace the CV joint right away... it was so dead that my mechanic thought that replacing the CV joint alone was worth a shot -- he believed that perhaps the bad CV was so badky worn that it might be sending the annoying high-speed vibration through my suspension at higher speeds. He was correct -- I drove in to work this a.m. and hit 80mph and for the first time since last year without feeling like my car was about to shake to pieces. It may or may not be the solution to your problem but your symptons sound exactly like mine... hope this helps somehow.
