I had a bad experience with Bars Leaks back in the 1970s, and haven't used it since. I had a small radiator leak, so I threw in a can following the directions it gave.
It sealed the leak right up! Then it proceded to seal up my heater core. Couldn't flush the core out... ended up having to replace it. A month or so later, I had to replace the water pump, which was only a year old. Don't know if that was related to the Bars Leaks or not, but it seemed suspicious.
A mech told me that Bars Leaks has hair in it. I didn't believe him, but whatever it has, it clogs up more than just the leaks. I think it's like filling your blood vessels with blood clots hoping they'll stop a wound from bleeding. It might seal the wound, but you may end up with a stroke or heart attack! So Bars Leaks might be a cheap fix for a small radiator leak, but it might also be a nightmare that causes water passages, heater components, or your pump to get blocked up.
I think, if you can afford it, you're better off repairing leaks directly, rather than putting in stuff to block the holes from inside. If you DO use it, I'd recommend putting it in until the leak seals, then flushing the system to get the rest of it out.
