That's way scarier than anything I've ever been through on the road.

One of the most important lessons I ever learned was at a local Hess station while my mother was wating for a free gas pump. I was in the back seat, and her fiancee was in the front passenger's seat. Normally here in the States, it's considered polite after you fill your car to move it out of the way before you go inside and pay so other people can begin filling. This guy didn't. When he came out, my mother was getting a bit angry, and turned and said something like "Wow, I can't believe this. How rude." The windows were up, but either he could read lips, or he just saw her glare at him. He came over to her window and said something to the effect of "Can I see your driver's license and registration, please?" and her fiancee replied "Let's see a badge first." He jumped in his car and took off. Thank god we had a Saab, and he had a Ford Tempo. We were able to tail him from a safe distance while reporting his location to police on a cell phone, and he was intercepted and charged with impersonating a police officer, and the charges stuck. :)

Personally, if someone got out of their car, and made me fear for my life and/or safety (personally, that'd mean they'd have to be displaying some sort of weapon or I wouldn't be sufficiently motivated) by doing something like you mentioned, kooch, I'd run the bastard over and explain later that it was in self-defense. I've heard of people doing it before, and it was considered reasonable defense in court.
