Normally bleeding the clutch requires some pressure, but if the clutch works OK, it probably is OK. If you had air in there, it wouldn't work very well.
I've used a section of bicycle inner tube with the valve stem that I stretch over the reservoir opening to apply some pressure. I've also used a second reservoir cap into which I've mounted a valve stem. Pump in a little pressure with a bicycle pump and then open the bleed valve to which a length of tubing is attached. Place the reservoir into which the waste fluid goes above the level of the bleed valve to avoid siphoning air back into the system. Someone also reported using a large syringe to squirt brake fluid into the system from the bleed valve location. I'm sure there are other solutions too.
