I bought a flush kit (zerex) and a 10 minute flush fluid. I flushed the system according to Townsend's website...When I removed the drain plug from the rad, nothing came out (hmmmmm) while flushing a chunk of black goop came out of the drain plug and then water started flowing from the rad. I also took out the drain plug and it had more goop plugging the holes. I put the hose in as many places as I could, to clean out the rad, then I put in the 10 minute fluid. I got it to operating temp (fans came on about 40%, then shut off in 2-3 minutes at idle)This was while the car was still running. I drove it for about 20 minutes (which gets the temp above 75%) and it stayed around 50% with the A/C on. I am waiting for it to cool down now, to flush it again, then fill it with antifreeze (sounds silly in FL, but I understand about keeping the rust down). Looks like i may have a short term solution, so I can do my front brakes. Thanks for you help guys.
Terry
