But they seem to think that 10W30 is whats best. Most important is not mixing the 2. If you use conventional oil, and live in a cold climate, 10/30 is better, as its more fluid at cold temps. Redline MTL is popular but expensive, and though it does lead to smoother shifting under all circumstances it may not lengthen the life of the transmission. My old saab had 10/30 Mobil One, which seemed fine. New one has conventional 10/30, its being rebuilt as we speak and I think I may put some synthetic in. Generally, a lot of non-saab people are horrified at the idea of 10/30 in the trans. Saab changed specification after the 99 model switched from a gear drive to a chain drive from 75 gear oil to 10/30 motor oil. Best bet whatever you do is to change it often enough to keep it as clean as possible. And probably its best not to be constantly changeing from one thing to another.
