Still won't start. A few questions:

1) This car has the CIS aks Bosch mechanical fuel injection, correct?

2) In this system the fuel pressure regulator is in the fuel distributor, correct? This is apparently adjusted with shims. How is the correct shim distance found?

3) I read in a tech bulletin here that "Cars equipped with CIS fuel system will not start after they have been sitting .... [mine had been sitting a month] .. most likely cause of this problem is a stuck fuel distributor piston." Does one pull the fuel distributor to accomplish this? Note that I found no mention of this procedure in the threads here - and there are many on Sab no-start conditions. Perhaps it's not a good idea?

4) Will the car run without the boot that connects the throttle body to the air cleaner?

5) Where is the air mass meter and what does it look like? Could find no pics here or other sites.


So far have checked fuel pressure, both thermal switches and cold start valve. Car will run if fuel is squirted in manually.
